How does working in a food NGO help in personality development?

In the present times, a large number of food NGOs function in various corners of the country. An NGO is set up with the forethought of providing social support to the less fortunate section of society. Enrolling in an NGO is one of the best decisions that are available for students. Constant interaction with different people of diverse age groups helps in molding the personality of the younger generation.

If you have plans to become a social worker in the future the best way is to utilize your student life. Enroll in a food NGO and closely observe the kind of activities that they organize daily. While I was still a student, I was fortunate enough to get an opportunity to serve at a food NGO. While doing my job, I got a lot of chances to interact with children who hailed from different communities. This helped me understand some of the problems that the people of the deprived sections of society face. The dire need for food among the population especially during any trying times is unimaginable. All the members of the food NGO are dedicatedly engaged in trying to make India free from the hunger issue. Different tasks are assigned to us. Our NGO organizes school meal program and supplies freshly prepared meals. I had accompanied my teammates to one such school and observed that the NGO worked in an organized manner.

Every member receives thorough instructions about the tasks that are assigned to them. The kitchens where the food is prepared are quite thoughtfully built. There is a regular check on the standards of the hygiene of the kitchens. The work of the NGO is not restricted only to volunteering for school meal programs but at the same time. Along with that, the members also take charge of imparting lessons about the share of nutrients through the meals. We distributed the meals among the children and saw a glee spread on their faces with that. Over time, one of my fellow volunteers also enlightened me about the schedule that we need to follow each week.

With the duties that are vested on the volunteers by the food NGO, and the subsequent actions to make sure that the demands are met a student is bound to learn and enhance his/her entire personality.
